Horses and Clients

Rockstar

Rockstar is a 1994 TB gelding, who began his dressage career in 2003. In just 5 years he has reached and competing at Grand Prix. He is constantly improving his quality of gaits, and receives 6's and 7's for his piaffe and passage. Katherine is currently training with Stefan Wolff. This retired jumper 'Rocky' is truly living up to his name and really is a "Rock Star."

"Rocky is the most willing horse I have ever ridden, happy in his work, and always giving 110%," says Katherine. He was purchased as a school horse in 2003 and soon began to shine in his training, becoming Katherine's FEI mount in 3 years. Terry Rosoff of TTR sporthorses says of Rocky,"he's such a content, happy horse and so easy to handle. he's a pleasure." (photos courtesy of Michael Oehler)

Dafoe

Dafoe is a 2003 Hannoverian gelding by De Niro/Walt Disney/Trapper. Dafoe is a very talented young horse with a cheeky sense of humor. In his third show he won his Training 4 class at cool august nights.,a large southern californian show, out-performing a large field of competitive horses ridden by professionals. He is elegant and graceful, and has just begun his career. Look for him back in the show arena in 2009!

Ransom

Ransom is an imported German warmblood who's career in world class jumping was cut short by injury. "He wants to work" owner Priscilla Tampkin of China Blue Farms, and Nancy Frost of Sapphire Ridge both agree and so turned him over to Katherine to begin his career in Dressage. Having trained Rockstar, a former 4' jumper to Grand Prix Dressage, Katherine was the logical choice. "Ransom reminds me of 'Rocky', in mind and attitude", says Katherine. "He is a pleasure to work with and has a bright mind and a big heart." Look for him in the show ring soon! (photos courtesy of Barbara Bella)

Winston

Winston is a registered paint gelding owned by Monica Stock. He has been in training with KLM Dressage for more than two years and in 2008 finished 4th in the USDF all breeds for paints. He is now showing second level with Katherine and training 3rd. Monica has also begun her competition career showing Winston at training level and improving her scores every show, receiving 60's. Katherine's goal is to train Winston up the levels to FEI and continue to bring Monica and Winston together as they both learn.

Decadencia

'Deca' is a 2002 1/2 Andalusian mare who began her dressage career 6 months ago. At her first show ever she won her open Training level 4 class at the Mid Winter dressage show at LAEC jan 2009. Owner Sharon Oehler also competed amateur level for the first time and received a 4th with a score of 65%! Deca shows incredible talent and is a real eye catcher. Keep an eye out for her as she moves up the levels in the future. (photos courtesy of Michael Oehler)
